Kicking Off 2026: Building Work Skills That Matter for Students
Our Work Skills Program for Schools in 2026 has launched and we want to start by acknowledging the schools and teachers who make this work possible. Programs like this only succeed when educators are willing to think differently about how students learn, and we are grateful to partner with schools that put student wellbeing, engagement, and real-world outcomes first.
We were proud to kick off the year with Swan Online at our AITT Bentley Campus, working alongside an outstanding team of Swan Online educators including Ms Poynton, Ms Anderson, Ms Spurgeon, Mr Soo under the Direction of Simon Bergin. Their commitment to creating supportive, flexible learning pathways for their students reflects exactly what this program is about.
The session was expertly facilitated by Arian Mianigivi, whose approach sets the tone for the entire program: calm, student-centred, practical, and grounded in real workplace expectations.
Designed for Students Who Need a Path
The Work Skills Program has been purpose-built for all students, however it is especially suited to those who may experience:
Anxiety or school-related stress
Difficulty engaging in traditional classroom settings
Challenges with exams, essays, and high-pressure assessment environments
A need for smaller groups, clear structure, and practical learning
Are after an ATAR alternative pathway
Rather than forcing students to fit a rigid academic model, this program adapts to how students actually learn best.
We create a safe, low-pressure learning environment where students are supported to build confidence, capability, and independence - without the constant weight of tests, essays, or comparison to others.
Learning Without the Pressure of Traditional Schooling
This is not a program built around exams or academic essays.
Instead, students learn through:
Practical, skills-based activities
Guided projects and workplace simulations
Collaborative discussions and supported reflection
Clear expectations, consistency, and achievable milestones
The focus is on progress, not pressure — helping students show what they can do, not what they struggle with in traditional assessment formats.
Real Outcomes: Two Nationally Recognised Qualifications
By completing the program, students graduate with two nationally recognised qualifications, giving them:
Credible credentials recognised across Australia
Practical skills aligned to real workplace expectations
Increased confidence to transition into further training, employment, or alternative pathways
These qualifications are not “watered down” — they are meaningful, industry-aligned, and delivered in a way that respects the learner.
Thank You to Our School Partners and Private Students
We want to sincerely thank Swan Online and the teaching team for trusting us with their students and for working collaboratively to create an environment where young people can succeed on their own terms.
We also want to acknowledge our other partner schools including:
· St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls
· Hale School
· Great Southern Grammar
· Swan Christian College
· Lake Joondalup Baptist College
· Southern Hills Christan College
· Australian Islamic College (Kewdale)
As we move toward a broader rollout in 2026, we look forward to partnering with more schools and educators who share the same goal. We also look forward to welcoming private students whose parents have chosen to enrol their children in the program; providing them with practical skills, recognised outcomes, and a learning experience that genuinely works for them.
